Nothing earth-shattering here, but I was surprised by how effective this was. I've been climbing again for about six months after a two year break. Without doing any specific "training", just top-roping and bouldering, I'm back to where I was two years ago in terms of strength. Last week, just for fun I climbed an easy, juggy boulder problem on an overhanging wall, and "hovered" my hand for a couple seconds over each hold before touching it. I did several laps of this and didn't think much of it, until the next day. My back muscles got sore enough that I realized this was a really good training technique. It's now part of my regular routine. _________________ Old, fat and weak - but climbing! |
